Season 7 of 24 has arguably been the best season in quite some time and yet, there is just one episode left! Next monday starting at 8 (2 hours long), 24 will be ending this season.
We've had a lot of twists and turns this season and in true 24 fashion, we'll have more in the 2 hour finale as well as a lot of plots and questions finished/answered.
Expect in the coming days for quotes to finally be added to the database and feel free to add any that you don't see listed!
According to an Executive Producer of 24, David Fury, it seems that 24 will be on the air for at least two more years:
"I would love to tell you of my other big plans and upcoming projects as I was certain I’d be moving on from at this time… But, instead, I am in the process of renewing my contract as an executive producer of 24 for two more seasons."
As with the past few seasons of 24, we were lucky enough to begin with a Sunday and Monday full of 4 brand new episodes. Already through those we have new pictures, new characters added and a host of plot lines developing. First up, the pictures:
Jack Bauer's Dossier has been released with the very first "document", with a new one being released every week up until the premiere of 24. Check it out!
The last episode of 24 aired May 21st, 2007 and nearly 2 years later, 24 returns in form of a prequel movie tonight with 24: Redemption.
Many 24 fans believe that this could be the last season of 24 or the best season so far. For a television show to come back 2 years later after what was argubly the worst, quality, season for 24 - it will be a difficult task to become a blockbuster show once again.
To be positive I do expect this prequel movie to be good quality and I hope that Season 7 can turn the series around back to greatness! Be sure to tune into FOX tonight at 8 PM EST to see the return of 24.
It seems so. According to an Entertainment Weekly article, actress Elisha Cuthbert has signed a deal to reprise her role as Kim Bauer. Here's the scoop:
Question: What's the latest on Elisha Cuthbert returning to 24? -- Dominic
It's been a few months since I posted about work on the site, but recently a good amount has been done. Version 3 is basically fully online, only the new forum system is left. Here's some of the new things (see the previous new features, this is in addition):
Top 10 Quotes - No not a new feature, but it is now online using the new quotes system. We're now entirely on the new system.
Media - This is a feature I've been wanting to do for a while and now we can with this CMS. We already have some media added for Season 7, but we'll have even more soon!
More Characters - We've added more characters, mainly Season 7 ones. We plan to make the character pages a bit better, with some pictures and basic info.
We'll still be fine tuning some things and by the time you read this, we should have a poll online. We have added a lot but we do miss some things, so feel free and submit a Character or Quote. Stay tuned!
Finally some details about the Season 7/Day 7 prequel, now called "24: Exile". FOX Entertainment President, Kevin Reilly, revealed some information about the movie:
"“I think it was just an opportunity,” says Reilly. “We were going to be off the air for a while and how do you bridge that gap. We thought about doing something online and after talking with [executive producer] Howard [Gordon] we decided to do it on air.”"
“It’s the day of the election of the president and swearing in,” he adds. “It’s a self-contained two hours.”
Jack Bauer star Kiefer Sutherland had this to say:
"It sets up the conflict that starts in the prequel and is carried all the way through Season 7."
If this information wasn't enough, how about a trailer?
Yes Tom Lennox, the VP (Powers Boothe), a brief glimpse of Robert Carlyle, an even briefer glimpse of Jon Voight and of course Cherry Jones as the new female president. Awesome!
There are still some things to do, but most of Version 3 of 24 Quotes is online! We have quotes in the CMS system now as well as most characters. Aside from some visual differences (different templates for one thing), you will also notice some new features now online or will be in the coming days:
Comment System, online for season quotes and character quotes, will be on actual quote pages shortly.
Improved Search - When searching, it now searches through characters, news and quotes.
Polls - To get people more interacted, we'll be having polls about 24 shortly.
More Quotes and Characters! We'll be using numerous sources to try and get every quote we can (Season 1-6), as well as update the Character List.
And more!
As said, there is still some left to do, but a lot of the major coding work is done. Most of the remaining work is adding characters and quotes, as well as making sure the original quotes are fine.
We have a lot of work to do, but if you want to help out, feel free and submit a Character or Quote. Stay tuned!
24 being off the air, seemingly forever, hasn't helped acitivity or traffic any. But with 24 finally coming up this fall, we're going to get ready early but making some website changes. 24 Quotes has run well with AdaptCMS Lite powering it, but it's mostly in the Quotes area that needs some work. Here's a few of the things to look for:
Search Improved: When searching, not only will it look through Blogs, but Quotes, Characters, etc.
Improved Layout: You can already see it now, just minor changes but expect to see more.
Although the current Quotes script does well, I think it would be easier to manage the Quotes using the CMS system to manage Quotes, Characters, etc. This would then allow for user blogs and more possibilities to enhance Quotes pages and such.
That's just a few of the new things to come. All-in-all the website is going to look very much the same, but only with enhancements (visual and coding) and some new features. Be sure to keep an eye out!
Back on the 17th we posted about the Prequel premiering on November 23rd, now we have word that big-name actor "Robert Carlyle" will be appearing in the 24 Prequel.
We don't know anything about his character and whether or not it will be a major part, but so far there is nothing to suggest he will be appearing in Season 7 of 24.
FOX has announced that the 24 Season 7 Prequel will air November 23rd, it will be 2 hours long and bridge the gap between Day 6 and 7.
"We're excited about the prequel because it
explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the
signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24,"
says executive producer Howard Gordon. "Shooting in South Africa
affirms everyone’s commitment to making this season especially
memorable for our fans."
Thanks to the Writers Strike, Season 7 of 24 was delayed as all 24 fans know. However, not it seems that in part because of the wait for Season 7 to begin, there will be a 24 Prequel Movie.
It will be taking place in Africa (and some scenes shot in Africa), the Prequel will be a two-hour event airing this Fall. Here's some details:
"Jack Bauer is under Senate investigation for crimes against humanity,”
Coto explains. But while in Washington, FBI agent Renee Walker brings
him in to deal with a series of possible terrorist attacks instigated
by former CTU agent Tony Almeida, previously presumed dead. “Jack’s
thrust into this mystery of how Tony is still alive, and why is he
trying to bring down this country?"
Check out a new interview with our favorite 24 website, 24addict and Tara Dilullo Bennett, the author of the 24 Companion books. She talks about the making of the books, which you can check out here, a great read!
It may be hard to tell except if you're good, but 24 Quotes has switched CMS's. BlogPHP is not updated and I don't run the script so I switched the CMS to an upcoming and my very own, very advanced AdaptCMS.
What does this Mean?
Not only does this mean that I can put basic features I've wanted on this site for a while such as Polls, RSS and much more. More often postings here and a better overall experience.
But wait!
If that's not enough, more noticeable is a new forum setup as well! Running on the upcoming AdaptBB (guess who is the lead programmer of that script? ) which is also greatly enhanced over the former. Easier to use, more attractive, more features and no buginess!
So...
I hope regular and new viewers enjoy the changes, there are more upcoming. As I said, more regular postings here, new pages, weekly polls and a lot more! Stay tuned.
We have some bad, breaking news regarding the highly anticipated Season 7 of 24. Due to the writers strike, Season 7 of 24 will not premiere this year, the premiere has been pushed to January 13th, 2008. The decision was made due to the strike and Season 7, if premiered as scheduled, would only be a partial season. Any more details will be posted ASAP.
First up is one of, what one would guess will be many new additions, "Ever Carradine". (yes, David Carradine is related to her, her uncle) Ever has been in show including Commander in Chief, Men in Trees, Will and Grace, Grey's Anatomy, and CSI. She'll play a re-occurring role as an FBI agent.
The big news is a three-parter, one there is no longer any CTU, the series will be in D.C. now instead of L.A. and Jack is dead. Ok I'm kidding about the last part, but CTU being dismantled is really true. From reports it appears the FBI will be a major aspect of the new season, whether if Jack is helping them or running from them is another matter.
Just 3 episodes left of season 6 of 24! It seems to have gone by fast but has been a great season already.
The second thing on tap is the spam I'm sure you have noticed. Anti-spam measures have been put in place to prevent spamming, this should stop spamming the quotes and registrations. If for some reason it doesn't I'll go a little deeper, putting in measures to block registrations or quotes being added that have UBB code or URL's, but it shouldn't have to come to that.
I unfortunately haven't had time for the site but am in the middle of quite a few changes for the website. Once done all below will be added/changed:
Better URL's (includes some of quote in URL)
Many more characters
Quotes cleansed (repeats, non-quotes, etc. deleted)
Numerous bugs and bad URL's fixed and better URL's (user profiles, submit link on all pages, etc.)
Improved Search
And more. I am unsure at this point but may put in a "report" system if the abuse gets worse, that way bad quotes can be deleted quicker. As well an auto-search may be built in to help prevent repeats, but the anti-abuse and above features will come first. Don't forget to post in the forums to give any suggestions, experienced problems or questions!
It's tough not to do but for those that haven't seen the leaked episodes of 24 Season 6 the wait should be worth it and now the wait is a mere 2 days away! The premiere will be 2 hours starting this Sunday at 8 PM EST and the same time and length on Monday.
And don't forget to tune in Sunday, Monday and the rest of the week here at 24 Quotes where we will post the quotes from all four episodes.
A good article written by EW.com on the upcoming season 6 of 24, they had the chance to see the first 4 episodes.
From the article it sounds like a lot of action (shock) and possibly a death or more of characters we know, Chloe and Jack continuing there awesomeness as well as other tidbits of info and an overall picture of the series.
It's been announced that actor "Rick Schroder" will be joining the 24 cast, season 6 premieres January. Schroder has been in numerous projects such as most famously as Decetive Danny Sorenson on NYPD Blue, as well as "Strong Medicine" and "Scrubs".
Schroder will play forceful CTU operative Mike Doyle, who teams with Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) to execute crucial field operations.
It's now been reported that actor "James Cromwell" will be in Season 6 of 24 playing Jack Bauer's "estranged father". Here are several important paragraphs of information:
Just a heads up to everyone that Kiefer Sutherland, who of course plays the infamous "Jack Bauer", will be on tonights episode of the late night talk show the "Conan O'Brien Show" at approximately 1:06 AM EST. (depending on the length of the football game) Come back here later on to see a recap of the interview.
UPDATE: Just saw Kiefer on Conan and very little talk about 24 except mentioning of 24: The Game" where Kiefer said he wasn't a gamer but his two kids were, that they played the game to have the Jack Bauer character shot over and over. Funny interview but even the promo video was not of 24.
After much speculation, 24 won it big by getting the best drama series AND Kiefer Sutherland won best actor at the emmy awards among several other smaller awards. This was Kiefer's first emmy win (9 nominations), a post will be made once the full list of won awards soon.
