I would like it, though at another forum some people were saying that the only reason he was even in the government at all was because of his brother, curious as to his credentials to become the president. (though that could easily be explained next year)

Otherwise I think he would be good, some people have said 24 needs to go with new people which I disagree with, having an old character like Wayne is good especially for those that have seen all seasons of 24. :)

I agree that they don't need any new characters.  Wayne is really different from David.  I'm not sure which one I like better.

So far, I'm still partial to David. He trusted Jack almost all of the time, even if his gut feelings were telling him differently. Wayne hasn't developed that trust fully yet. He's already gone against Jack's advice and look what it cost. I don't think he'll be as quick to discard Jack's opinion anymore, but we'll see.

Yeah I still like David better and Wayne isn't quite there to trusting Jack 100%, but I think he knows better (as he quite badly learned his lesson) but now, hopefully, knows to not ignore Jack's advice anymore.
